Applies to rototells.com and to the RotoTells draft capture Chrome extension. Last updated 3 September 2026.
What the extension reads
- Your draft room, while you have it open. On
fandraft.appandfantasy.espn.comthe extension reads the visible draft: which player is up, the bids as they come in, who won, for how much, and the list of fantasy teams in the room. - Your ESPN league, using the ESPN session you are already signed in to. On ESPN it calls ESPN's own league API from the page, the same way the page does, to read team names and settings. It does not see, store, or transmit your ESPN password or session cookies.
- Nothing else, anywhere else. It runs only on those two sites. It does not read your browsing history, your other tabs, or any other page.
What it stores on your computer
In the browser's extension storage, on your machine only:
- Your RotoTells sign-in token and username.
- Which league you chose to capture to.
- Picks waiting to be sent, and any the server could not accept. This queue is the point: if your connection drops mid-draft, the picks survive on your machine until it comes back.
Signing out clears the token and the league. Removing the extension removes all of it.
What it sends, and where
To rototells.com and nowhere else:
- Your username and password, once, when you sign in — over HTTPS, in exchange for a token. The password is not stored by the extension.
- Completed picks: player, price, winning owner, and the full bid ladder that produced the price.
- The fantasy team names in your draft room, so they can be matched to league members.
The extension sends no data to any other server, and contains no analytics, telemetry, or advertising code. It loads no remote code.
The RotoTells account
- An account is an email address and either a password (stored only as a hash) or a Sign in with Google identity. Signing in with Google shares your email address and Google account id with RotoTells; it never gives RotoTells access to your Gmail, Drive, or contacts.
- Draft data belongs to the league it was entered under and is visible to the members of that league.
How long it is kept
Draft history is kept until you ask for it to be deleted — the point of the tool is comparing this year's auction to previous ones. Email [email protected] to have your account or your data removed, and it will be.
Who else sees it
Nobody. Data is not sold, rented, or shared with third parties, and is not used for advertising, credit assessment, or lending. It is used only to run the features described here. The site is hosted on Amazon Lightsail and served through Cloudflare, which see traffic in the course of delivering it.
